Idk if there is one already.. Ive looked around and haven't seen any so... Me and my Friend XiMeNSiOnS have made a ladder boards site.. it still needs alot of work but the general base of the site is up.

Its pretty simple... You register on the site then sign up your clan.. and have your clan members register too or just add their names to the list of people in your clan. Then... ITS WAR!.. challenge a clan and contact the leader and set up a time and/or place to have the war.. one of our refs will be there to ref the game and the winner will be higher on the ladder. So have fun and ask me or XiMeNSiOnS if you have any questions.

Actually, there is a plan on the table that some of us have been working on for a new system for Nexuiz (something to replace the system that has been used thus far). We're just in the idea stage right now, but when we have some notes collected, then we were gonna talk to some other developers in the community to further the project.

The Nexuiz ladder on that site shows 2 teams... both with 1 win and 0 losses. oO

thank you ya me and Ximensions are working hard to get it going. Having some trouble with a name for it. We where going to call it Nexuiz Ladders. But we thought make it versatile for more then one game so now the name is hard to decide on.

Besides you cannot call it "Nexuiz Ladders" because thats already the name of the official ladder script/page morfar and I created at http://www.planetnexuiz.com/ladder/

erm well... no offense and all... its a nice "ladder" if you want to call it that... but its complicated and not very well put together... its.... grr idk the word for it... oh.. its not a ladder... its just... like a info about where the servers are.. and so called clan ranks.. its very confusing unlike ours but.. if you want to use that kinda of thing then go ahead

lol ... did you actually register and join a ladder ? It has all the needed functionality of a ladder, like challenging opponents, entering match reports, viewing matches of other people, team management, etc.

you clearly don't know what you're talking about in this regard.

What I regret though is that the current ladder page is looking bad, but thats just a optical thing.

Oh, and the other downside is that the main developer of the current ladder (which is the official one being used for years btw, which you most probably didn't know either), which is me, is not spending any time anymore on that project. So it either needs other people to develop it, or be replaced by a new system of which the development is being continued, maybe it'll be your system, maybe not.

That's the idea that some of us have in mind. We'll share more details on it when we collect our thoughts and have something to pitch to the community. Ideally, we'll get lots of input and refine it to become a really good system that everyone enjoys.

Sorry IAMDAOZ. What you're proposing just isn't close to the project that I'm talking about. This one involves a lot more integration with Nexuiz servers and with other projects.

Well, you are posting in the official ladder forums, which is a number of forums dealing with the official ladder. Which is the ladder page linked to from the official Nexuiz site. Which are GreEn`mArine's pages... so I'm sorry, it IS the official Nexuiz ladder at this moment.

Go to the Nexuiz homepage and click Ladders... you'll get the idea.

It just seems a little dead that's all.

well w.e.. we're still gona keep it up and keep it up to date with new features and servers we have for it too.. so if u ever need a back up or for w.e reason.. its there...

Still, to get back to the topic. You proposed an alternative to the current official Nexuiz ladders, this means that any player can (and should, if he wants) sign up, register his clan, and use the ladder to play matches. Just because there are 2 ladders this doesn't mean everybody was forced to use the official one, I'd like the regular players to test that new ladder, because if it really is better and more alive we can some day substitute the system.

The problem with the current ladder is that it is not actively supported anymore by developers, which always is a bad thing.

well im not saying it sucked and mines better ... i ment that the one now is confusing and a little glitchy.. witch is what i mean by mine is "updated" if you will... and i know more then one ladder can exists... theres more then one ladder for a lot of games... im just saying that I dont want to put work into something that no one will know about or be bothered with... cuz im currently designing some Gfx for it soo.. you know.. :/

Well... the main page explains it all... each thing on the left of the page in the menu bar is all the features...

Ladder - All the games that have ladders on the site and when u click on them it shows the clan and their wins, losses, XP, and if their looking for a fight

Tournaments - Still working on that.

Elite Arena IRC - Its the link to our irc server and channel.. and if you have a irc client open already then it will go to it on there for you.

Free Agents - Sign up as a available player to join a clan or something.. haven't really worked that out yet.

Create Challenge - self explanatory

Report a Loss - self explanatory

Search Ladders - self explanatory

Find a Match - self explanatory

And then we have a more extensive user system where the users friend each other and leave comments to each other on their page and user photo and status info.

You can apply to be a staff member of the site either being a ref or admin or any position you wish to have.

We have affiliates and perhaps.. not for sure.. gona add a forum for it.. but i dont see the point in that what we have comments and messages and that stuff...

We where also going to set up a few servers for the nexuiz end of the site. Where the wars would go on and the ref would sit and spectate and make sure everything was fair.

And as you might see.. I have been making the banners for this too... torus helped with the nexuiz one a little bit..

The most important thing is the activity in the ladders.Yesterday there was a 3on3 Laddergame (Conquerors - Unconnected), at least something.

I'd like to know what you're planning to avoid that the ladder players lose their motivation to participate (and that's exactly what happened to the current ladder IMO). I'm quite sure a nice homepage won't do all the job

well..... to tellya the truth me and my partner haven't really thought about the rules and pointing yet. We have been working on the design and setup like links and scipts and fast loadtime and crap like that. If u wouldnt mind inputting ur ideas and sugesstions for what it is you want the rules and points to b the we be glad to take any suggessions ad ideas

Well, I think we spoiled IAMDAOZ's enthusiasm by telling him there's no living in a house without inventory. Unfortunately we weren't too friendly and helpful with him, were we?

I had a chat with them in IRC about it once. They didn't develop the system themselves. They used an existing app which makes it a pretty limited system.

The one that we're planning is a bit more, um, fancy? ...with auto-generating servers specifically for matches and tying into a stats system and also (eventually) auto-recording the matches from the server and storing in a demo repository. In short, we're planning a system that is customized for Nexuiz while theirs is more of a generic ladder system.
