  • a while i posted u shots of fabzctf_v4r1, thinking that the map was safely on the server. It was on the server all right but the pk3 got corrupted and i lost my backup of it. I made a new map here witch is similar to the old one but is bloated, heavy and has some pretty yet largely useless features that might make your computer catch on fire. I hope you like it, let me know what you think.

    download fabzctf_v4r2 (45 megs) from http://www.fabianrosten.com/fabzctf_v4r2.pk3

  • Overall, it's decent. Some parts are cramped, and the killer-pillar in the middle is really annoying, but I think it'll be playable. There is at least 1 obvious bug (the curved patches on the back walls of the 'church' area (flag room) don't actually meet the wall).

I WOULD like to say, however, that I'm kind of astonished at how pretty the rt-lights are in this map. You combined them with the stained-glass windows, and I didn't know before this that RT lights are colored when they cast light through alpha-textures. I'll have to make use of that in my work at some point :D

  • they are rt lights, thier not alpha textures.

the textures are jpeg, i achieved the effect by pure trickery, thier just cubemapped lights, like the lava ball in quake 1 (darkplaces)

its simply a matter of lining up the rtlight with the texture, to create the illusion that the texture has something to do with the light. It doesnt, it just looks like it does :)
