  • Layout version 2, scaled up, more adapted to nexuiz gameplay : a capture need now between 10 and 20 seconds.

    http://91.121.200.104:8090/files/spyglass_v2_nex.pk3
(with bot waypoints, radarmap, rtlights, external lightmaps)

The map includes the new weapons, the seeker and camping rifle which can... perforate the glass. :P
2.4.2 server admins can use this .ent file ( in data/maps/ ) to replace seeker and CR by hagar and machinegun. 2.4.2 client are compatible, only limited by vertex lighting.

  • You are just unlucky, you can try the same movement 100 or 1000 times and you won't fall down. I would say it's more an engine bug, during one frame it doesn't consider the wall solid, maybe a wrong movement interpolation.

Here you can see the brushes collision, there is no hole.

You have to live with that, and know you can go through a wall on any map at any time. I remember someone reported the same kind of bug in the reservoir elevator. :P

  • I'd like more this map if scaled less vertically. The ramps are almost unusable while bunnyhopping. I hate it.

This annoys me as well. Makes me go slowwww.

As to the other bug, definately engine related. I've seen it happen on Moonstone, Dance and various other maps. On Dance I was actually stuck inside the wall and could freely walk around inside it.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

  • Can anyone reproduce it?

Does it still happen after DarkPlaces r8752?
Did it happen before DarkPlaces r8749?

It might very well be caused by the set of patches r8749, r8750 and r8752.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • When I checked the server pn.de where the video was recorded, it was still using rev8747, so before the know issues.

With laser jump, and even worst quad jump and rocket jump, it's very difficult to have in Nexuiz a map suitable for serious vertical action. What the point if one can grab the flag alone in 2 secs and bring it back as faster. That the only reason the ramp have to be so high without having a map too large. But yeah if you don't have enough speed, the ramps will slow you down. The tip is to push with the laser on the wall, you often have 25 hp at the ramp bottom and 25 armors at the top, so almost harmless. For the laser haters, they can still find some fun with the tag seeker or using the camping rifle through the glass. Others will just avoid the map I suppose...
