The Fury Castle

    A contrastive map: A castle which is generally characterized by a egyptian style, however, is very contrastive too. It includes four different levels, to support vertical action, but is symmetric through the y-axes. All levels, which are mostly connected through doors, have different features: From lava with torches and desert to beamlightning. It is intended to be a 1on1/DM and TDM map.

    To end up the description, here are some screenshots of the fury castle:

  • Beautiful map, interesting map-layout.
    Doors open only first time you go through, then you have to shoot on them to open, have someone else this issue?

    all doors, except one, should open through shooting and through going through them (added health command and a trigger to open it). If I start the map, this works fine for me.

    However, the first time I pass a door, i get an error message "sound not precached (fix your code) - precaching anyway" (or sth. like that)

    Does anyone have an idea how to precache a sound?

  • I would not consider this a 1v1 map. It *might* be a TDM map, but it definitely qualifies as a fun DM map on pubs. I just put it on my pub DM server and people like it. :-)

  • I just played the map with a couple of players on Dokujisan's server and noticed the bug with the doors, like Alien described it.

    I don't really know, why they don't work properly, but I modified the door triggers a bit, and created this fury_castle_door-test version: http://www.file-upload.net/download-173 ... t.pk3.html

    It would be nice if u could try this version and give me feedback, if it worked fine (all doors, except one, should open by getting close and shooting on them), so i can make r4.

  • After some testing, I now modified some details, and especially I fixed the doors for release 4.

    Here is a list of all changes I did:

    -bug with doors fixed
    -removed, after some testing, a couple of doors to enhance the gameplay and enlarged the initial mortar-room
    -mortar and hager swapped spawnpoints to make the elevator-room more important
    -added more clip brushes, so u won't get stuck so often
    -and some minor changes of eyecandy and player spawnpoints



    I hope now that the map is very close to final version.

  • It has been a while since the last release, but I decided to finish the whole project with a final release. (You can get it here: http://omploader.org/vMjhvYQ/fury_castle.pk3


    The most visible change, is the modification of the main room. I added some towers so the roof doesn't look so cut-off anymore.

  • Ah, from the screenshot it looks very nice. Shouldn't this be in the TDM tourney map pool?
