The last impulse purchase i made last year was this incredible toy:



In addition to being a decent synth, it is also a vocoder, so just to test it i remade the robotic announcer sounds for nexuiz. there are two different of them now, one mostly used in minstagib (countdown etc) and one used more places in the game (like 1 minute remains and the like). Now these are the same voice This is not meant as something to go in to the game, cause the production lack some, but if people like the general direction of this, let me know and I'll work more on it.

Um, ok.. at first I wondered what I listened to when I started out with 1.ogg. I couldn't hear what he said at all, and the other ones was pretty much the same thing. It's very hard to hear what he says in almost all of those, and in a battle I figure it will be even worse. You got too much effect to those sounds which makes the words not come out clear. Try making the voice louder and more clear.

yeah.. that i know.. i didnt spend muvh time programming the vocoder, as a said, the production lacs some... however in a countdown you should be pretty dumb not to understand, as its also displayed with centerprint XD

I thought they were understandable, but lacked the personality that thte current announcer sounds have.

But i think really good versions of that announcer might work.
Has anyone played quake4s delta ctf? iirc it has 4 different announcer types. We need some matching the 'sexy girl' 'Your team.. scores *purr*'

Its on my list.- however the sounds in nexuiz have some major volume issues, and they all should be adjusted

These sounds are pretty humourous. Maybe we could get some voice actor off the net to do some voices and then you could run the samples through this.
