I doubt you will see any performance changes with that model. The new item models should also be lower poly then the old ones but i did not notice any change in timedemos. And as morphed is good at modeling i'm sure that model is rather low poly and uses modern ways to look that good without being stress for the gfx card
I like that rocketlauncher model but i also like the old one. It really looked just right to me. Only thing i did not like about the old model was that huge end part of the model at higher fov.
This new one indeed looks matching to a scifi shooter so i'm ok with it. I have no problem with the antenna but at high fov it looks a bit strange as the right side seem to be cut away.. damn perspective
