  • Hi,

on greatwall reloaded I usually get pretty bad fps at some spots. It took the liberty of placing hint brushes and forcing a finer-grained vis process (decreased _blocksize). From what I can tell the resulting map is way faster than the original, but strangely my radiant doesn't load up the sky and the grass, so my compiles e.g. has missing sky lights (this does not impact on performance).

C.Brutail, could you compile http://savage747.sa.funpic.de/greatwall-source.zip and see if that works for you?

  • Yo!

Thx, sure thing, tomorrow I'll be back to uni, I can compile it again.

Btw how come you don't have lights? Iirc I've included all the stuff in the pk3 that is needed to recompile the map. oO Strange.

  • Ah, cool, thanks.

Well, no idea why it's not working... perhaps I didn't extract all of it.

    I'll continue tinkering with it.

edit: Gargh, I forgot adding your shaders to shaderlist.txt. GTKRadiant now loads your shaders.

I'll try to do a final compile and post it here.

  • O, thanks for the correction on the map :)
In case if you "relese", please give it a different filename (eg. ver. 1.2 or anything else) and please write a proper readme.txt too (maybe attach your modifications on the begnning of it).
    Thx.

  • Yes. in the pk3 /docs/map-readme.txt

For all major maps I made, I've included a txt file with additional info (contact, licencing, genral infos etc.)

This one includes fixes to make sure flags that were dropped inside the bunkers can't be grabbed from the outside.

damn I loved that strategy. and all the newbs were like "oh you're wall hacking, stop it"

For those of you who don't know, wall hacking is actually looking through walls.

I don't consider the changes big enough to demand credit.
