  • Yes, our dear MikeeUSA should really make a working SSL certificate or use normal HTTP.

Otherwise, we find out too easily that it's him again - really, that broken SSL certificate spoils all the fun :D

There are actually three issues with the certificate: it's expired (and it is expired since 2003), it's for a host name that points to another IP, and the host name is not even used in the URL.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Invalid ssl is not really any less secure then regular HTTP.

Do you really want me to put it up on the http server? I could, but I don't see any advantages to doing so.

Anyone have ideas for how I should flesh out the base. I am thinking neo-tokyo/halo-space-station type mix.

I've also made a few useful items (piano, globe) that could be prefabs for other maps (this is all opensource).

True, but why not use regular HTTP then?

I do see one: no pile of annoying messages by the web browser. No need to use --no-check-certificate on wget. Faster access.

Seriously, if you want SSL without the security, use a VALID self-signed certificate. That's just one message - the "this certificate was not signed by a CA I know" one. Not three dialog boxes as one has to answer on your site ("certificate is expired", "not signed by a trusted CA", "invalid host name"). When I visit your website https://cat2.dynu.ca, I actually get these three messages THREE TIMES. Means I have to click okay NINE TIMES just to be able to see your website. That's more annoying than commercial popups.

    lolololololololol

Sorry, the other thread was closed before I could get a comment :) And that invalid certificate made me think it was a scam site until I did research to find out it was our old pal. All of the warnings that popped up aren't going to help anyone trying to download from that server.
