Classic Nexgun

  • i had a look at nex 1.2 the other day and i stimbled across the classic nexgun again. I kinda like the old model although it isn't very refined. I sketched what I think an updated version of the classic nex should look like.

  • I know I'm repeating myself, :wink: but I said that in a thread that was not about the nexgun. I must say I preffered the old nexgun too, I liked it's "alien technology" look. But I like it's new ray better do, it looks much more like an electric arc. :D

  • i'm playing around with tZork's tMod which adds 2 extra wepons to nex. If i ever get the time I'll try to put BOTH nex versions in. I'm not sure how to get the old feel though.

  • I like your new model. It's just enough of a change to make it look more polished but not too much. :) May I suggest a skin that is in the same spirit as the original one ? I like the skin on the original.

  • I think the connection between the top and middle part should be more solid.. or maybe some heavy wires.. after all, its not an aiming-thing, its an energy pack :)

  • imho old nex wasnt best design in the world, idea was nice but why try to recreate 1:1 copy, use your imagination and make something better but based on orginal :)

    It seems to me that it's pretty much what ihsan is doing. And he is doing it well.

    That makes sense. I'll fix that soon.

    Can anybody export a ZYM of it for me? I put a 3ds up there but you can have lwo or obj instead.
    I want to see how it looks in-game.

    The Blender SMD exporters don't work with zmodel and until i can write a Blender>ZYM exporter myself (no time soon) i can't see anything in-game.
