I have just finished my replacement for the Lazer ... the old one was just booring ...
I tryd to keep its designbasics ... and generatet somethin that looks really nice in my eyes ...



Next one im workin on is the Shotgun ...
I think i will put a bit work into that chaingun i made too ... but looks like i will first do the replacements for the old models ... After The shotgun i will make somethin for the RL ... cause this clumpy thing is just terrible ...

Question: will we ever see hands in Nexuiz?

I think its better without hands ... Donno why but i like it more without hands ... mostly cause i have less work to make models without hands ... ^^

I don’t thing hands would fit to the nexuiz style, and I don’t know how much you know about how nexuiz works, but there is non model spawned for you so you would have to spawn a player model in first person view and then attach the weapon on a bone from maybe the hand...you would have to animate the complete model because only a hand which simply end nowhere wont be cool I’m sure.

nice job. I think that it looks like it could use a little tweaking to make it fit into the style of the game, but it still looks really nice.

In this shot it looks a bit earm ... steril ... only grey and that things ... but dont be afraid ... i made some parts of that thing to shirt color ... ... my standartcolorset is this grey-green one ... so the lazer just looks only grey on this shot ... if ur colors are blue or red it will gain a bit color and fit better into the gamestyle ...





By the way ... i dont really get what u mean with fit into the Game ? ...

Were workin on some Mod that will make things different ... ... This weapon fits into this Mod at all ... ^^ dont forget that im workin on various Replacements for the weapons ... and were making new weapons ... everythin in ... i would say ... my grafical style ...

I will release some maps created for this mod too ...
when were about to finish that mod i will release that model replacements as replacements for the standart nexuiz too ... so everyone can replace single weapons to his standartnexuiz by his own wishes ...
However sure this lazer wont really fit into the arsenal of standart nexuiz weapons ... but it will fit perfect into the improved weaponset of our Mod ... ...

I will try to set up some Home-Page where we can place Screenshots and other things around that mod ...

The Problem i have with the weapons like they are now is that everythin looks a bit like plastic and toy's and thislike ... the weapondesign itself is cool ... its innovative ( if that word is written like this ) ... i want to make the old models look a bit cooler ... and less like toy's ... i think thats the reason why my weapons dont really fit into what the game is at the moment ... but like i said ... i decidet to replace everythin ... keeping the basic design of the weapons ...
If u look at this lazer ... u will see that its just an improvement of the old one ... a bit more polycount ... a bit more detail on texture ... and a step away from the basics ...

i mean if you add a hand you will have to remake very wepon so thad the weapon fits to the hand and you got to make diverent hands becourse a hand for a shoutgun will never fit to...letz say a leaser

That model looks pretty beefy for the laser, but it does look mighty nice

Talking of the shotgun model, I think an old-school, modern-day one like the Doom one would be very popular.

Couldn't agree more. I LOVED the shotgun from Doom, and even the two piped one from Doom 2, especially the sound it has, sweet jesus I used to only go around with that weapon and go hunting monsters

Yeah ... That Doom1 Standart shotgun was the rulor weapon ... i loved it too ... ^^ ... i hope i can find some free to use sound for this shotgun ...

I understand your passion towards glowing lights hehe but I don't think shotguns really need them for anything. They look far more scary the old plain way. Just a suggestion though, I'm looking forward to whatever you'll come up with .

I second what ai just said. There are so many teamplay mods that have cool realistic weapons. It'd be awesome to finally have a DM game where you can use them! I've been waiting since Action Quake 2 for that!

That three points is some reflex ...
Its just easy ... im typing with the 10 Fingers system with about 2500 Keyhits in 10 Minutes ... that makes 250 Keyhits in 60 seconds ...
So im typing faster than i can think on what im writing ...
Everytime i thinking about what the next part should be there are three points ...

I tryd to get rid of that for about five or six years ... and like u can see i wasnt able to stop it ...
So u will just have to live with that ... if it annoyes u ... just dont read my threads ... thats really not my problem ... this points are doin nothin ... they are just there ...

If someone stands right before u and talk to u ... and makes a pause every three words ... would u tell him to stop that ? ... ( Think on a person that cant stop that in this case ) ...

This points belongs to me like the smell to a rose ... so they will just stay ... thanks ...

If u want to use the model ... i could make some download link ... but this is only the first person model atm. ...
And by the way ... this thing fires just like the standartlazer ... its only a model replacement ...

I put some textfile into it for people that dont know what to do with the Files ...
If u have some selfmodified version of the shaderlist dont overwrite it, just add the last entry from that one in the rar archive into ur own one ...

If ure Nexuiz is just naked ( the version that u installed without any changes ) just copy the three folders in the rar into ur nexuiz dara archive ...

Tried it, very nice ... very different . I kinda wish those laser beams were little shorter.

really think that lazeraims should be shorter ? ... i like them just like they are now ... but if more people think this things have to be a bit shorter i can do that ... its just two simple mouseclicks ...

Me too actually. Just slow down a bit, I had the same "problem" before, didn't have one correct sentence at all with dots all over the place.
And you answered that he should just stop reading your posts, to be honest I have stopped, I kinda am read only a few lines of some of your posts others I skip altogether (which is sad as I'm seeing your making lots of models and such).

look i like the game nexuiz, and i like to make maps, models and textures for the game ...
The only reason for posting my works here is to show everyone whats comin up and get some critics about my works ...

I have no problem if people dont read my threads ...
The only problem with that is that i wont get help if people dont read what im asking ...
but like i said, that points will still stay ...

Im posting on serval other forums and the people there just accepted that dots ...
I dont get where's the matter of that dots ... If People are getting annoyed by onle seeing lots of that dots, that must be kind of psychical effect or somethin like this ... Maybe u should make a therapie or somethin ? Remember ... Its only dots ... poor, harmless, small little dots ... they will not hurt u ...

However ... people read my threads, or people dont read my threads ...
Everyone can do what he want to do ...
If the community stops to answer my threads only cause of that dots ... i will just stop posting ... and keep asking my questions on irc ... if the com stops to help me there, i will stop to work for the game ... i have no problem with that cause there are much other games i could model for ...

But for now it looks like the com have no real problem with that dots ... the com is answering, the com is helping if its able ... so everythin is right ... isnt it ?

After some PM's with Green Marine ... I think that Dot-Reflex-Thing is finished now ...
My Reaction to this wasnt the right one ...

So i have to sorry to everyone that faced my aggressive answers to that issue ...
However ... I ever try to get rid of that dots ... and i will do that in the future too, but i it looks like that i cant just stop that reflex ... i can just correct my threads after writing ...

Who cares about the dots? Doc's models are cool, so why worry about it?
