    Oh **** i made a space map, I don't even like space maps :P, probably won't be too much falling off action but there will be some. Mainly so's you can fall into the afterburners and get toasted :> (yet to be realised)

    I want to have a scrolling transparent layer between the skybox and the map to give the impression of travelling through space. Yet to attempt this tho.

    This is a test compile therefore the lighting is jagged.

  • hmm, has a cool quake2-like nostaglia feel to it (big simplified geometry, saturated not-brighty lighting, space skybox)

  • A bit more detail would be nice, but the map looks ridiculously cool..i like your maps I have to admit, i think this one could have some interesting gameplay, and looks nice to make nice frags :P

    Damn I love Sci Fi :shock:

    Hmm progress but the lighting got worse , i think it's because I moved the skybox further away/made it larger.

  • Thanks for the guided tour around the map on my server yesterday Rad, it's cool to wander around your maps :) and I agree completely with torus' remark about modern art. No point telling you more things about the lighting, you know that already ;) Just keep up the great work !

  • Tomorrow, DEFINITELY tomorrow.
    It's got config for KH CTF DM and TDM. The CTF is just for a laugh really i don't know if it will be be viable. It's mainly intended for DM.

    About the compile time: try increasing the _blocksize to 2048.
    But i think a better idea would be to make more detail-brushes, so vis won't take so long.

  • the first shots of this map looked ugly in my eyes ... but u made that map to some really nice lookin somethin ...

    never thought that this map would change like this ... O_o ... ure goin pretty better Rad ... i like the style of that thing ...

  • Wow... this is a beautiful map.. more like a huge spaceship artwork sculpture you can run around on. The stars zippin by, great skybox fx. I'm getting about 30-35 fps just with myself on the map, but I was expecting it to not even do that well, I'll try it with some bots in a bit and see how my machine handles it.

  • Awesome map man, great attention to detail. I like how if you get too close to the engines it'll suck you in and burn you up. Much better texture work too, and lighting. And the skybox is amazing and and and I'm going to go play some more.

  • @TK47 Sorry no bot waypoints yet. Got to learn how to do it first.
    The vis phase took like 5 hours so I might try it with vis-fast and see if that works better, but this might make it worse.

    @Phychicyber , well it's supposed to be like a pile of radioactive isotopes or something., EVil alien artifact? There was this bit in a film event horizon, mebbe something like that. To explain why the ship is deserted. Was thinking about having pulsing effects on it also but didn't get round to it.

    Hmm you know now it's finished I'd really like to play it, anybody got a free server this evening?
