  • I keep getting this Stacktrace error, every time it comes up it does something so when I save it saves as an empty file.

    Code: Select all
    Open file C:/MAP/TEST.map
    ../libs\script/scripttokenwriter.h:48
    assertion failure: token contains whitespace:
    ----------------

    Stacktrace is disabled in release-builds
    ----------------

It's when I have polygons entered, and quite a few of them.

Is this something to do with my ram, or what?

  • No idea what it is, but given how buggy GtkRadiant is, I really doubt it is your RAM. Does it happen with every map file?
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • No, it doesn't happen with every map. I think it happens to the maps which would probably be harsh on the fps. Like lots of polygons and edges.

  • I rather suspect that you may have an "evil" character in some "message" key of an entity, or something else. Maybe a shader name contains a space. Remove that then.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

  • Hmm...

It does seem to happen when there are no shaders applied.

  • Ok, I've gone to the map that it's happening on.

I don't apply shaders until as late as possible (I don't know why...)

So when the empty map loded it said
    Code: Select all
    Texture load failed: "textures/"
    Texture load failed: "textures/e"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&s/"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&at"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&ht"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&e"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&so"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&tm"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&/p"
    Texture load failed: "textures/&wo"
    Texture load failed: "textures/l"

  • These sorts of things seem to happen less and less as i go on, but i'm still suprised every time radiant opens or a map compiles without leaking, then even more so when it actually plays. I wrote mesasge in a speaker entity, oh what fun that was trying to figure out.
I nicked the idea of your moving shader in onarail for the stars in Ito shaggy, that was very like an UT map was it?
eheh I guess this qualifies as off topic, good luck sorting your bug out, sorry i can't help.

That map might have been converted to HTML by something, maybe pages.google.com? Can you post it somehwere?

  • Sorry, but I don't understand. I havn't uploaded it to pages.google.com. So I don't see how that could change it.

    But I'll upload it.

  • Damn! It's been wiped! I tried to save it earlier, and it did the runtime error.

I can't div, as if I try to save it it won't save.

    ----

    Also, what I've noticed.

It some time occurs when it does autosave.
When I copy something, with more then 4 sides.
Lots of polygons will set it off.
It opens about 20 times - I have to fight with it got get rid of it.

  • I think I may know how to get around it. It seems if I add a texure, then go File > Save As. It will save. If I don't add a texture, it will do the runtime error.

    I got it to work!

  • Odd bug. You probably have a file name with a space in it in your textures/ folder, and for some reason GtkRadiant uses that texture by default. Delete it.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again
