  • Hm here's some Easy Example.
This is the Texture of my Autorifle ( not my best work, in fact its more booring than awesome and im not really finished on this Texture ).

    MS-Paint Concept ( Handpixeled ) :

The Texture that's showed ingame :

The Bump and Normal Maps were postet earlyer this Thread.
I like to work like that, cause i can use the Mask's i make from the concept, for the Bump, Gloss and Glow Maps too ( and its fitting perfect to the Texture then )

Such MS-Paint concept-Texture can also be used, to get some picture of what the Texture could look on a map object.
Like in this GTK shot here :
    Image
The Texture's used on that shot are MS-Paint Concepts.
As u can see, u can use it to get a view of what the Texture's should look like when they're finished.

*Edit* btw. i found some shot of that tunnel with finished Textures :

  • That looks like it would cost an increadibly amount of time to do. But as i don't really know what "handpixeling" is i can't tell for sure ;) But that explains the unique doc-python-look.
Very interesting insights, and nice concept map you got there, kinda reminds me of Descent (and i loved that game).

  • So you make a really basic version of the texture to preview it?
Is that GTKRadiant 1.5 you're using there?
Nice work as always Doc, can't wait for you to get your mspaint stained claws on the skeleton rigging exporter that leilolololll is making.
    Cool I'm nearly at 100.

Doc, had any more ideas about that outdoor map collaboration? I got a load of ideas, I'll zip em up for you if you want.
    ...
What app do you use for UV unwrapping? maya? or blender, I find blender really frustrating to use.
