tbh, I really hate seeing FOSS games using Tux et al as their source for character designs. It'd seem extra tacky in Nex, imo

If my avatar didn't tip you off, I'm a fan of starcraft and is waiting for the release of starcraft2. On it's site there is an amazing animated render of a lowpoly character. I think the character looks BETTER than all those doom3 and crysis models because the texture work is just cartoon enough not to look look a plastic doll. If it weren't moving i'd think it was a good drawing.

I'd highly prefer these over Tux... Tux really looks awfully silly. But if you don't make a Tux, someone else will for sure. Can't do anything about it... so whoever wants to do it, get it done now, so we can get that torture behind us

Beastie would actually look much better. OpenBSD fish, however, beats Tux in ugliness (even as Orbb replacement).
