ja, hello first of all. im new to this forum. and compared to masters new to the world of radiant. i recently made this awesome map on radiant. the only thing which isnt good are the textures. i have alwaysd used textures of other people. i want to make my own. i drew the JPEG, saved it under My Pictures. then i went to C/:.../etmain/maps and unzipped mlb_basic. a folder named textures appeard and i copied my own JPEG into there.; i started radiant, clicked textures, went to mlb_basic, and then loaded my texture and applied it to the brushes. i compiled, open RTCW:ET and started my map. however all of my own textures were totally black with a fat orange grid on it. what have i done wrong?
how can i make my own textures that work? What files, folders where when how?

Your textures need to have a filepath:

~/.nexuiz/data/textures/yourfoldername/yourtexturename.tga

They also should be targas (.tga), not jpegs.

Well yeah this forum is about Nexuiz not ET but then again we always like to help..
Sadly i know almost nothing about radiant.. but i KNOW ~/.nexuiz does only exist on linux/mac and C/:.../etmain/maps sounds like wiffelwurm is using windows

For windows, it's just the regular /data directory.

oh crud :S i hope you wouldnt concider my post spam or so :S. i thought nexuiz was a server or a clan, my bad! but thank you very much for answer my question, i really appreciate it (i couldnt find anyother decent looking forum)

so all i do is save the .tga or .jpg in the same folder as where my maps or saved or wherever. and then type in the location somewhere...but where :S

Uhm.. well i'm not a mapper but i hope some of the others can help with that question anyway.

i sure as hell will do that. this community is friendly;) reflects upon hte game i hope
