  • http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~p ... rnoobs.pk3 and run using the console: "map laserisfornoobs"

Warning: not a full map, just a single test room.

Try to get behind the glass without using the laser. Feels familiar?

What about making a full DM or CTF map with lots of rooms connected in such ways?

The %1$s reminds you that the %2$s cannot speak. In the event that the %2$s does speak, the %1$s urges you to disregard its advice.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • It would be a lot of work, but one could make a room made of small panels, each of which would be a trigger for a teleporter to move out of the wall... unfortunately, you can't define a tele-dest. in game.

One can't really move a teleporter out of the wall, but one can make it "appear" by first covering it by a wall and then making the wall slide away. But true, with the tele dest that would not work.

BTW, we need Portal's talking turrets in Nexuiz.

  • Prey was an awesome game. Much better than Doom 3.

Could the portals be freely put on walls? Or were they deployable objects to put on a free area? Or just fixed map objects (like Q3A teleporters)?

  • They were fixed, although they had the same properties as Portal portals- that is, they were not just teleporters (you could do the trick where you see yourself running, etc). In Prey 2, they will be placable.

One scene in the game even had a 'lilliput' portal that shrunk you down and placed you into a sort of showcase :)

Lol. That was an awesome part of the game.
