  • What you need is a graphics program that can save .tga files with an alpha-channel (transparency). For things like this I use The GIMP, but most other (sophisticated) programs (Photoshop, PhotoImpact,...) will do as well.

Simply create a new file with a transparent background, and create your crosshair on top of it, (draw it, use paths, use parts of another image,...), then save it as crosshairXX.tga (XX for a number > 11) in the folder /path to/nexuiz/data/gfx/.
To correctly display it in the game, set the "crosshair" value in the config.cfg file to "XX".

You may also want to take a look at the standard crosshairs in the data2008XXXX.pk3 archive (/gfx/ folder).

  • When you download nexuiz, you download a folder, where all the docs to get nexuiz working. Search in that folder for data and put your crosshair in there.

But there's a hidden map too.

Open a finder window. On top of your screen you'll find "go". Click on "go" and then "go to folder". Type there ~/.nexuiz and there are your demos, screenshots and more.
