    Played about 3-4 maps on Pink's server now. It was the biggest fun I ever had in nexuiz!
    You must try this out. The maps are also great.

    You should checkout rink_nexball_v1r4. Best map I played yet. I can also think about some kind of tourney with 3 men teams xDxD.

    Also, I would like to see a converted version from Morphed's and div's Sucker Socks ctf map.

    Anyway, big thumbs up! Thanks to all the people who made this mod. Biig fun :) :) :)

    That was a great Nexball release yesterday! I saw many familiar faces, first at my own server then the one [-z-] kindly put up on the US side of things. Thanks for setting that up!

    Thanks a lot to MrBougo for re-coding this great mod and of course to Revenant for the original thing. I'd also like to compliment MrBougo for the excellent way he released this thing.

    You should checkout rink_nexball_v1r4. Best map I played yet. I can also think about some kind of tourney with 3 men teams xDxD.


    I completely agree. In 3vs3 works great at Rink and many other maps and I would also love to see some kind of tourney.

    Also, I would like to see a converted version from Morphed's and div's Sucker Socks ctf map.

    I have made my own 'conversion' of Succer Socks that is already up for download here: http://www.cartracinghq.com/temp/pb/cur ... l/list.asp
    It has no kill brushes on the outside but rather impulse triggers that will blow you and the ball right back into the field. Which is actually very fun because that way you can even pass the ball to yourself. I tried first with Football Fever but could not get map to compile correctly, FruitieX has already told me he will take a shot at it.

  • Just a note: people on Pink's european server yesterday had problems with Soccer2, causing them to disconnect.

    The problem was that the server loaded an old version, nb_soccer2_v1r3.pk3, while the recent one was nb_soccer2_v1r3-fix1.pk3, causing a 404 on download since the old version was not in the curl.

    The map itself is working fine :)

    That's the page on mapping for Nexball. The same text is also included in the mod you can download in the top post [called zz_nexball_b1r2.pk3] and in that file is also a new entities.def you can use so you can easily place and edit the entities.

    So , is there any way to have muliti level scoring? i had an idea for a giant skeetball map . maybe the middle hole could be 3 , second hole could be 2 and finally 1 . thought that may add some fun .

    I can make goal entities have specific points without problem :)

  • Hi hi! I like the gamemode Im making a map but by my map the ball should came out of the ground...should xD.
    and my favorit is revmisk1 its the best! :D
    but i try to start my map but for 5min i downloaded zz_nexball_b1r2.zip and nexball-content_b1r4.zip xD.

  • On revmisc1could the jumpad on top of the goal shoot out towards the center of the feild instead of just shooting you up? because if two people on there one will get stuck making it impossible to score which is very annoying. :(

    But other then that everything is great! basketball ftw :P

  • Hey! I want more involvement in this project! What was once my project now has pretty much nothing to do with me.. that kinda sucks because I did put the effort in the first time..

    Get on IRC more, id like to have some input in what maps are included, and see if you have any planned features that I could put to use in some maps!

    Going to jump up to b1r5...
    Then next update will be v1r1, released along with nexuiz 2.5, as I believe the main development of nexball is over, the code doesn't need fixes as far as I know.


    Changelog for b1r5:

    Code: Select all
    FIX Make the use of the mortar less intrusive
    FIX Default weapon behaviour: nothing but the mortar, unless enforced (but setting g_start_weapon_mortar 0 doesnt affect nexball)
    FIX Hardcoded paths should have sane names...
    FIX Content pack: updated the sound names, and texture path as well
    FIX Cvar names that make more sense
    NEW Cvar: speed multiplier for ball carrier (to make him slower, not faster :p)
    FIX No need to fix that warp thing anymore, div's DP commit disabled interpolation on entities that get their attachment tag changed


    I'll be packing this up and correcting the docs on OUNS as well.

    EDIT: It'll take a little longer, I just thought of a fix. Sev didn't figure out there could be technically only one basket ball. I'll be fixing this by only spawning the first and showing a warning if two are found.
    Next step would be to allow using more than one basket ball. I don't know.

    EDIT2: Okay, all fine :)

    Don't forget to update your content pack and sv_curl_serverpackages cvar!

  • New version released!

    note: this is *not* yet beta two. Beta 2 will be running on the stable 2.5 codebase, and should be available in a few weeks. It will have all the features from this beta 1.

    It features a "major" gameplay update: a power bar that lets you control the ball's speed in basketball!

    NEW Entity: ball_fault, goal that causes own-goals only
    NEW Entity: ball_bound, same as fault but no point is given, the ball is just returned
    NEW The 4 goal-like entities accept a new spawnflag, GOAL_TOUCHPLAYER, that makes ball carrier drop the ball when it touches the trigger
    NEW Power bar for throwing in basketball! :D
    FIX Multiple basket balls are supported
    FIX Shadow from the basketball when carried was ugly
