q3map2 can now also create minimaps, for an easier workflow. It's even in the build menu of current NetRadiant builds.

These minimaps however totally ignore patches. If it's good enough for you, you now have a much simpler workflow to make minimaps for your map.

Note that it writes _mini.tga maps and not _radar.tga maps. This is no problem, as Nexuiz supports both, but you cannot rename it to _radar.

So basically, _mini is no longer deprecated - q3map2 has no box tracing function, and is thus unable to make _radar maps. This info might be important for people making map packaging scripts.

Well, it works exactly like xray photographs

Or rather, sharpened xrays. You can turn off the sharpening using -sharpen 0.

I'll post some example screenshots of the different filtering methods.

are there any additional parameters, like cropping only a part of the map?

Dont think cropping would work as it has to be on a cretin relative to the map to work right.
