hi, im learning making maps, i made one but if i test it it doesnt work, it isnt in the list.

i made the pk3 file, put it in the nexuiz data folder but i cant see it in the map list.

Have you editied the mapinfo file to allow for the gametype you have active in the menu? When there are no guns in the map at the time the initial mapinfo is autogenerated its only playable in minsta.. and lms iirc

there are weapons in the map

and you are right i can only see it if i set minstagib

Ah, so you had no items placed.

Add the line

has weapons

to make the map appear outside MinstaGib. Also, you forgot to set timelimit and fraglimit in the "type dm" line.

type dm 30 20

Do it like this.

Are you sure you edited the file, added the right one to the pk3 file AND delete the old one from disk? IIRC the autogenerated file goes to nexuiz/data/data/maps/NAME.mapinfo .. Files on disc take precedence over files from pk3s. Also there is a kind of load path (certain files from certain dirs and pk3 make up the virtual file system in nexuiz.. maybe it uses an other file then you think it does)

i dont know for sure so i delete all files and build it again.

try to follow these directions for making a pk3 . -z- has laid it out for new mappers . once you get this down you wont forget it . dont get discouraged because there will be more mistakes to learn from later down the road .
