  • Great job Strahlemann!

    I might try the same thing on another map.

    What map do people thing needs a make-over? (I like aesthetics better than gameplay, so this is perfect for me to do)

  • torus, I had a CTF map idea that was a lot like that! The only difference is that I was imagining the ships being more like the ships in Hyperspace in UT.

    I also imagined little spacheships flying in between the two that you would have to jump across, but that'd be harder to get in ;)

    These spaceships are based off of (drone?) spaceships in Homeworld 2.
    The concept was a spacemap, but with indoors and outdoors.

    Im going to make the bridge across a bit more difficult to be sniped on.

  • As a noob mapmaker I would like to present my very first map. You may find it hosted on the Peace Brothers server as peace5 (vcall chmap dm_peace5)
    It all started with my desire to have a carrot garden. Then I thought wouldn't a movie theater be cool. I solicited suggestions. Then it just got out of hand!
    A few of the many deranged rooms found in this map:
    The garden (includes hot tub)

    The Viking hall (we can lock up misbehaving players in the cage)

    Hell (Yes, that is a giant accordion in hell, and yes, it does work!)

    @cortez: I hope i can play it soon 8) Could be a little bit brighter and some more alternation in the textures with some additional detail would be great.

    This shot reminds me of UT's DM-Barricade quite much... would like to see that one in Nexuiz one time too.

    The textures you use may be helpful for that... or are they just the same ones as on farewell, just very dark lighting?
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

    You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

    It will be brighter and there will be some details

  • Working again on Fortress Resurrection aka cb_ctf4

    On my todo list for at least beta3:
    -make walls "not so boring"
    -add more eye candy
    -add location system
    -correct texture misalignments
    -add some signs where player is atm.

    I'm not realy sure how to make that, I don't realy wanna place texts all around. Ideas are welcomed about that.

  • @Z: The electric map screems for some metallic gloss effects ! Good brushwork !

    @C.Brutail: You need to break that boxy look in your map. go for some arbitrary angles (yeah, well arbitrary angles suck in radiant, so try some more 45 degree ;)
    And add some detail. Idea:

    Also i don't think that the grate texture fits. You could alter it, so it looks more silver-metal (like the lamps on it). Or have some blinking and glowing go on behind the grate (using some animmaps).
    And i'd love to see how it looks when you go for less brightness at the lights (lower the light value), but therefore have an additional strong spotlight for every lamp.

    Otherwise keep up the good work !

    btw.: how's that community map coming along ?
