  • Ok, I know the textures are the bundled ones, yeah. I'm trying to find a texture set for it. If anyone has suggestions that'd be great.

  • @ torus: nice textures but not GPL and for egyptian style not really suitable more for some thing aztec

    @ [TSA] Psychiccyberfreak: looks a bit empty
    try the textures from bleach und evilspace , they must look good there :wink:

    good to see SOMEONE has played the game. It's a bit ironic that my clan's tag is TSA, but when I was naming the clan, it had nothing to do with that.

    thanks, I'll try that. I think what I may end up doing is making my own textures, it's just I have no clue how to do saders/bumpmaps for each texture so it would look ugly. Maybe I'll sift through the data pk3 later for some help.

    What I plan on doing is have it be a CTF map. Also I'll be adding some stuff from the game. I'll probably be entering this into the mapping contest.

  • [TSA] Psychiccyberfreak: The Journeyman Project! Yay! That game was a classic :).

    Ideas: Make use of portals to transport players to different time periods and worlds(seperate rooms from each other), like prehistoric Earth, and Morimoto Mars Colony.

    Right, I remember, now that you say it :D

    Heretic had kinda great maps. And I loved the bats. Are there any possibilities to add bats or stuff like that with GTKRadiant to the environment?

  • mmh. i like that torch a lot.
    These blue fields look a bit odd. But seeing them in motion will make all the difference i guess ;)

    hmm... I was thinking of just making it a really huge TSA base... but that's not bad I guess...

    maybe just glimpses of them would make it more playable... dunno...

  • Much larger, very realistic subway station. There will be two opposing platforms (the platforms are done), and station halls inbetween. I couldn't find any suitable textures for it, so I just brought my digicam when I rode the subway to see "Paprika." :D

    I know there are no railroad ties etc- I tried to include the, and it raised the map size by 2 MB and hit FPS horribly. :?

    The third rail inflicts damage :twisted:

    Manhattanites should be able to recognize the main hall in this map...
    It will probably be done in +/-3 days

  • working on a menu mod.. um.. what version can we call this.. alpha 0.01 maybe? we could call it OSL Menu Mod maybe?

    lol that stands for Open Source Lan.. running a free and or Open Source game's LAN in a couple of weeks.. and im making it for that basicly..

  • Is that in-game or just a mock-up?

    I don't think the font style fits Nexuiz too well, but it does look very slick.

  • I think it looks great, I even like it better than the current menu. Looks much more modern and sleek. The current menu is just a bunch of evillair textures, which is kinda funny, since they are meant for maps.

  • Actually, I disagree. I don't think that looks good- it looks like an iPod, and that is not the looks Nexuiz tries for. Nexuiz has a sort of futuristic steampunk feel, which that completely misses.

  • Its a mesh created in blender, and a few brushes (water + some clips to fix holes in the auto clipping)

    It's not so bad considering this is the first time I've ever modeled anything let alone build a map for an FPS, and I'm learning as I go (started about, 2 weeks ago or so). Shaders, that's the next thing to tackle, this map is rather dark, but I need to sort out some nice glowing surfaces or something instead of just a bunch of lights around. Soon, I'll have it for download, just want to tweak it a bit more. Oh, and yes, I put a cheezy big ol' 'TK471DM1' sign hanging on a wall in there, lol, oh what the hell, I love this game

    Most of the textures are from pictures taken with a crappy digital camera around my house (rust from the mailbox, concrete from the driveway, etc.). Seems big rooms aren't the best, some of the detail breaks up in the distance..
