No, no. This is "The Incredibly Strange Shotguns Who Shot Crates And Became Mixed-Up Square Smoke Rocket Targets In Notexture Land".
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I've been told tZork doesn't feel "confident" enough with his code. Well it's effects sure looks great to me. Please release it and we'll clean it up if you want.

Nexball is dead _forever_ because the dev did not make backups of his code and did not release it as opensource, now he would like to but it's gone.

I did mean to release the code with it, but I forgot. I also did have a backup and an external harddrive, but apparently everything it says its supposed to be able to do is false, and somehow it disappeared. There is still chance of recoding nexball, because I had quite a lot of fun with it. I just dont think im up to it right now.

No, its just a test. im not making an acctual map outa this ugly terrain.

TVR wrote:Keep in mind the issue of performance [graphical, network, & enjoyment] at all times.

An lets not forget aboute the oppressed sea lions! As for preformance, the mesh is rougthly 10240x10240x3000qu and badly optimized. Thers no visblockers or planning beind it. and it still renders at 200-270fps with normal.cfg on my 6600gt so i would not worrie to muthch abt it. Networking we will just ahve to see.. vis will never be very effective on very open maps, nomatter how mutch voodo you practice.

You will likely want so skip "q3map_tcGen ivector" since model apps alow you good control over UVs. The -1 is from hitting a wall at high speeds, feel like somekinda racing game hopping arround this one.

  • The screenshot should have been taken with r_speeds + r_showtris + r_lockpvs; only then could I assess performance.

Terrain graphical and network performance can be improved with the usage of fog-culling, higher vis resolution, or appropriate hinting [or auto-hinting with Gensurf]. You'll have to consider the shear number people who play Nexuiz on laptop.

Enjoyment could be expanded upon another vector via the usage of interiors made from with structural brushes, to increase both framerate and prevent wall-hacks.

In the event that you were to neglect performance, I bring you Exhibit 'A', 'Blasted Lands'.

  • I don't see your problem, the test ONS map maorphed made was running ok on my poor old pc (gef3 ti). And 60 FPS isn't bad. And there's no bloom or anything fancy yet on this map.

Albeit true you should consider that tZork already said this was a quick hack job and that there are not yet visblockers in there (which should change). Also consider that Nexuiz does not depend only on vis to cull entities, thus lowering networkload and making wallhacks pretty useless.

The graphical style is strictly only on loan from Fruitiex who taught me all i know. I've got to give it back now, :,(
    pZoints to spymaster Blub, Grrrrrr.
-MEga Nex to the chops-.......i wonder if there would even be any gibs after bein whacked by this, mebbe have to look in the next server. Nice work Bougs, masterful manipulation of model mangling you monsterous malefactor.
Sadly the moment when aggressor IS his weapon was not documented, and the moment when skadi IS his handbag had to be deleted, bad Bougo.

I'll try to load the pk3 up as soon as possible.

The Gameplay on this map should be much better than the first Deep Drill.
In Addition to that improvement i finally found a way to avoid the "Skybox Hooking"
I just made a trigger_hurt around the skybox.
