    Nitpicking: What if you add some noise on the _gloss & bump? Looks a bit too slick for me.
    Model is great though !

  • Cheers for the new nex :D . I think the blue hose looks a bit like a plastic toy one but the blue laser... yoy I really like it, it makes it look some really advanced sci-fi rifle (and it is) :mrgreen: .

    looks like i never finish one of my models cause i ever know how to make them better when finished ... so my last concept design is this one ->

    this one is using a pretty high polycount ... so i dont know if i can make it workin with nexuiz ... but when this thing should kick ass when im finished with texturing it ...

    in any case someone asked me after the nex one page ago ...
    so i made a .pk3 file of it ...

    Like every other model i made till now, this one is only the first person model including the firing sound virus made for me a long time ago ...
    I hope i didn forget any important file in that .pk3 ...

    To use that model simply put the .pk3 file into the nexuiz data folder ...
    If thats not workin, just rename the .pk3 to zip, unzip it and place the 4 folders into the Nexuiz data folder.

    Answer to that Cubemap ->

    it looks pretty nice ...
    but u should look at the brushcount -> for example that middlething.
    The wall there seems to be created out of about 16 boxes for one side.
    U should replace this boxes and just use only 2 brushes for one wall.
    Just take a look on the map where u can exchange walls made out of more than one box to a construction using less brushes.

  • To anyone who has the same trouble: I placed the new nex pk3 in my data file and I would get only the new sound but still the old model. So I unzipped it, with the same result. It turns out that creating a weapons folder in the models folder I got and placing the model there fixed it.

    Back to testing :D .

  • Well, I've done a lot of messing around with the looks of this map, and I think that I'm ditching the fog/rain idea. Here are some example shots.. Dont worry, you can see where you are going ingame very easily in both versions.

    Much work left to do still. The lighting is quite blotchy, but i dont really want to resort to skybox lighting, because then I will lose the pitch black shadows of the cliffs.

  • Looks cool. A clear, hi-res HUD. And finally an ingame font, that doesn't look like MS-DOS. :P This is for the pro-mod, I suppose.

    But doesn't it take away too much from the view?
