  • This was a very popular topic in the old forum, I think everybody likes to show up his work in progress. :)

    The rules haven't changed:
-Try to upload only a few pictures, in max. 1024x768 (but 800x600 is even better). Please prefer thumbnailed versions more!
-Please try to stay on-topic. I mean, if you would like to ask for help, about "woah, cool, how did you do that", open a new topic instead. This is not a support topic, but questions are always welcomed in a short way.
-Post only images of your work, if there are some significant change in outlook. A plus-minus brush excites no-one.

I think these rules are not hard to follow :)

So here are the first images, I hope you have not forgotten Noobmaps project yet ;)

I think it should be Nexuiz related :)
If you have done something else really cool, you wanna show, do so in offtopic (or Alientrap.org -> General Discussion how it's called lately ;)).

    @C.Brutail:
That woods look nice with those little alien plants. But doesn't that give performance problems? It looks like there are a lot of polygons on a small area...

Well, never, I say never look the FPS counter on the images I post here, I have a very low-end pc for nexuiz, for playing I always turn every setting on the lowest value.

Yes, maybe it affects a bit performance, but these maps are not for combat, this is a one-player go through only map. There will be a combat area for CTF play too, but it won't have this kind of eye-candy, you only spend a few seconds in this area, so a few fps loose is not problem here (it does not affect gameplay).

  • Those images are very slow to load. Can I suggest doing them as screenshots using JPEG? That would make this thread a lot more viewable. This thread should carry a horrible bandwidth warning I think, the number of screenshots will get crazy.

Uhm, all pics here already ARE jpeg...
And @bandwidth warning: isn't the word "screenshots" not warning enough? :P

  • Great Nexuiz will be (enhanced) ruined with another verison of Counter Strike

CS / CZ and CSS , still not bloody enough crap newbie CS for you ? (play Nexuiz then)

Please (include) BAN that mod to (help) before dust2 cs remake mod/maps are completed.

Great thing I found with Nexuiz, a lot of decent gamers that dont play CS/CSS/CZ/BF2/UT2004/Quake 4 dont play nexuiz , so the gamers skill level is higher generaly (with all those Player running around)

*admin-edit* The trick is to read the parts in the parentheses, makes it sound much nicer ;)

  • I know the Nexuiz community does generally joke about n00bish CS(:S) players but I think that's a bit far.

No, a mod can not be banned. Open source software is non-discriminatory. What would happen if Linus Torvalds turned round and said he wanted to 'ban' a Linux distro just because it was like Windows? No, that would not happen.

It is not the n00bs on CS that I find the problem, it's the attitude. There is nothing wrong with being a newbie, everyone is one once in everything.

  • i think its great making a mod like cs in nexuiz. But why did you not join a team to make a big mod like(T:N) or helping developper to make little mod inside nexuiz normal game?

You do what you want but i dont think people would play nexuiz life.

    Good work by the way.

  • THAT kind of bashing and flaming is the typical CS-kiddy stereotype. I'm beginning to think you have it installed and hidden so noone will notice ;)
Now to the serious part: I'm missing the old 'warning level' of the old forum, yours would have raised now.. Anyway notice that this was indeed over the top! Its ok to have, say and stand to your opinion but i really think we all can do so in nicer words.
You do not like CS fine, ignore it and all the other releated things but stop bashing other people!

And to say a few topic releated things too.. the gloss looks just WRONG in the dust.. ;)

But I would really like Nexlife? When is the release for v0.7?

(Just to remember, this is not "woah, cool, how did you do that", this is a release question xD)
