Should there be a North American tourney? The only person I've played 1v1 from Europe was Diomedes, and he had a 120-140 ping or so while I had a 60-80 ping.

Perhaps you could also allow people to sign up to be notified when the news page gets updated. Then, when there are tournaments going on, you can notify lots of people at once (not just the ones that read the forum regularly).

There is no demo uploading feature. You must ask the players for a demo.

I guess one or the other demo will be uploaded somewhere and the links will be posted. Like we use to in the ladder

the matches can be commented by any player, so the demo-URLs can be posted there

if you have a constant packetloss, playing with v2.2.3 original engine on an v2.2.3 original server is a real pain.

Not only does the own viewport lag (choppy) but also, if I change weapons, the packets get lost and the weapon doesn't switch. In the end I have a RL in my hand, switch to laser and do a laserjump, but the packet got eaten while bein on the way to the server, and I did a rocketjump instead of a laserjump.

As effect I will never ever play any game with v2.2.3 ... and if this forces me to forfeit a match because enemy demands to play on crappy v2.2.3 server .. then OK, I don't care

True. Besides all the efforts solving other issues, all versions from 2.0 up got sensitive to the quality of the inet connection. I've been adhereing to this statement for a long time already and I really hope for the upcoming version to come soon (!!!).

On Monday April 9th the second Tourney begins (and will probably end on the weekend)!
The Tourney system is different this time. This time the seedings will be random and will have double elimination from the start.
This will give the noobs a fair chance

I always thought you could work your way back up through the losers bracket and possibly win, that's why it's double elimination, or so I thought.

This is how all tourneys work. Like CPL, ESWC, WCG, WSVG, etc. And this Tourney script work like that.

But the one from loser's brackets must win 2 matches. And the one from winner's brackets only need to win 1 match. Life is hard if you are in the loser's bracket

Ok, the "loser's bracket" and "winner's bracket" are what I thought they were.

I still don't understand why the only person in the whole tournament that would get a second chance is someone in dIM's position. It seems like the winner's bracket should fight for 1st and 2nd place, while the loser's bracket fights for 3rd and 4th. Why would the 3rd place guy fight the 1st place guy a second time?

it's double elimination, i knocked him down to the loser's bracket, and he played green, he won that, i then knocked morfar down, he beat morfar, now he plays me, but he has to win 2 'games' as in he'd have to win for example 2-0 / 2- 0 and i only need to win once to be the overall winner
