Tourney system:
This time the seedings will be random and will have double elimination from the start.
This will give the noobs a fair chance
If we have less or more sign ups then 16 players, there will be a qualification round first.

IMPORTANT!
You choose 1 map and the other choose 1. How many frags you win with does not matter! It is the map wins that matter; best-of-three. So if you won 1 and the other won 1 you must both agree on a third map. If that is a draw choose a fourth map and so on.

Have you thought about using the overtime feature to make sure there is a winner?

I have thought about it but I want to use the ladder servers and they don't use overtime. I rather have all those ladder servers available then asking people to start more servers with slightly different settings.

Hmm ok, thats a good reasoning. Thing is just that in the ladder it does not matter if a map is a draw or not while in a best of three it does
Running two 1on1 servers that are non-public should not be a huge stress on the servers.. so maybe that would be a way to go (have special tourney servers)

But having another tourney so close to the first one is a bit weird though. Even for the first tourney being a test tourney. But I'm not complaining, just saying

And I would really like if more people would sign up. But only if you can play. The play times is around 18:00 CEST (That's GMT+2), it starts on Monday April 9th and will probably end around the weekend.
I would think this tourney will be more fun since everyone gets a second chance (except the qualifiers).

There is no deadlines at the moment. But if it where, you would see them on the brackets.

Of course only as long as it's working out (e.g. less then 100 ELO points behind / only the first 2 maps count etc.)

There's not much action on the ladder atm, so some more games listed may bring it back to life.

Pay to play in the tourney? No, never. I would never play a tourney that costs money.

That would be complicated. Because the Tourney have different rules. Like you can play with latest DP engine in the Tourney but not in the Ladder.

Just an idea which go in the same way that Strahlemann.
Why not integrated a tourney script IN the ladder system of green.
We can imagine this solution for the points :
- Much Elo's for the 3 first (100 50 25) on the WB an less the winners of LB (20 10 5)
- Points Ladder as usual
Maybe the ladder system or the tourney system have to change a little to correspond.

I think that can attract more ppl on same thing than 2 completly different 1on1.

I play much ffa and I see much ppl who can change this top5 of best 1on1 players that don't change for a while. But they don't back to nexuiz because of there are only populated server of ctf or minsta and nobody on play ladder.

well, it would mean to really add a lot of code. basically it "just" needs to get the right data out of the ladder database and write the right data back.

won't be possible anyway, because ELOs are ELOs, calculated by the ratio of map scores.

basically it would just require to edit the tourney script itself, and not the ladder script. but that tourney script is buggy anyway
