No, the hook is not legal. I have no future plans on allowing the hook either.

Mirio: I didn't upload the (No Weapon) run on basement because I have already beat it, but am unable to upload the video since I do not have my video card to create it. Anyway, if anyone attempts a (No Weapon) run on basement the time to beat is 5.97. Only then will I upload to make them the current record holder. Once I get my card back I'll upload that proof first thing.

Still waiting for someone to beat my vitamea run... as I was quite bad on it and still have problems with the weapon switching, I want someone who is better to use my trick to get a better time. It MUST be possible to go below 10 seconds using laser and electro... and someone already got the same time with laser only.

I'll try again tomorrow, maybe I can reduce the time a bit, but I was never able to get the last side room right unless I was slow... but even when one has to be, slowing down using the backwards key probably is better than slamming against the wall, like I did on my demo. Therefore, I strongly believe that a vitamea speedrun is possible in less than ten seconds.

And now... for something completely divVerent. Asymmetric maps. In case of asymmetric maps, I'd say they can be listed twice for both capture directions, but only if the asymmetry actually changes something about the possible run (for example, vitamea is slightly asymmetrical because of weapon placement, but this doesn't suffice for making red and blue flag runs differently fast, but OTOH, a certain "GPLd" map is an extreme example of an asymmetrical map).

It is possible to go faster and I'd attempt it, but I don't have my video card back from replacement yet. In another week, I'll be attempting all sorts of map runs.

wow, I really like the come-out of this thread, since it is all categorized nicely in the first post. However, maybe you should consider to split the "with weapons" section into a "only laser" and "all weapons", since I think it makes not much sense to do "rocket-jumping" in a real match in nexuiz anyway, so "laser only" skills are the most honorable imho.

Thanks fellas. I've wanted to create this to provide the community with something fun and interesting to try. I still think that more could attempt runs. Still early I guess.

And yes in the beginning I didn't know how the turn out would be so I really didn't have a plan. Now that I see people are interested I'm brainstorming on some ideas that hopefully will become a standard. I really like feedback that some have been giving such as Green's feedback. This helps to know what players are interested in; that way I can mold the rules to that demand. Not too much longer I should have several categories for players to attempt runs in.

..it's not all about what is possible in real play..some of us like the challenge at being able to capture as fast as possible..hence doing so offline that's how i got this first thing started with Carlyle, and then obviously he made it into a whole challenge thingy!!!!!
