  • looks like a really solid web application that you are building, including nifty URLs and the usage of some sort of "lightbox" or similar image display JS script.

But, sorry, you should move away from the Nexuiz.com design, really.

  • well, here's some information on how I built it:

    * Used a web framework called django.
    * Used dojo toolkit (a js toolkit) to spruce it up a bit. Notifications (ex. "your entry has been submitted" appear at the top with a little close button, and that lightbox thing)
    * design can be swapped out very easily, thanks to django's template system

Ok, so if you want to be a participant/judge all you need to do is sign up and let me know that you want to be a judge/participant, and I will grant you those permissions.

If anyone wants to be a co-maintainer of the site let me know, I'm looking for one.

  • I found a bug where anything under /users/ will return a 404. I'll fix it by tomorrow. It shouldn't take long, but I'm pre-occupied with something else at the moment.

  • how it works is basically the maintainers of the site create a contest. You enter a map in a contest, and judges rate it based on visuals, and gameplay. The two are averaged into a final X/10 score. All the scores are averaged together in the end to get a final X/10 rating for the entry.

I'd like to implement a more sophisticated algorithm that takes the judge's scale into play, so if a judge tends to submit lower scores, the participant does not suffer. I have no clue how to do this, so any "math experts" would be a great help.
