  • Signups are now open for the Second North American 1v1 Tournament.

Scheduled for 9-11 November, 2 weeks from now, Friday through Sunday, from around 5-10pm EST each night. Signup deadline is Wednesday, 7 November.
Logistically, it's important that everyone is on #nexuiz.tourney on Quakenet IRC so we can complete the matches in time. Visit http://www.nullgaming.com/irc.html for instructions.
We now have 3 available servers to play on, in New York, Georgia, and Texas. (Thanks JohnGalt and Willis)
In the last tourney we had 8 players, my goal this time is 16.

Questions and discussion in this thread.

  • I'm signed up! Which IRC channel should we be using for coordinating this?

  • Also, if another server is necessary I could probably provide. Supply the necessary server.cfg and we'd be in business.

  • When is the sign-up deadline and what are the expected play times?

I really can't commit because I have no idea what my work schedule will be, as I've been working 60+hr weeks lately, but I need more gaming in my life, and I'll be easy frag bait if I participate.

P.S. I'm thinking if this tourney is successful, donations may be in order for a prize or two for the next one...

Deadline is Wednesday of that week, the 7th. I'm sure schedules will change and that'll allow flexibility that should keep my 16 player goal.

As for times, I'll target 5-10pm EST each day; should be a good window for everyone to show up. I expect the majority of matches to take place on the first 2 days.

  • Our corporate sponsors have requested that I bump up the date of the tourney to the 9th through the 11th of November.

In case you didn't read that last sentence, then tourney will now be held on November 9, 10, & 11 and not 16, 17, & 18.

Registration deadline is now Wednesday of that week, the 7th of November.

  • Well, there's one week left until the signup deadline and we're now at 9/16 players.

As a special offer, our friends at Doritos ® have promised to pay the entry fee for anyone who signs up today, in honor of Halloween.

So visit the tourney page at http://planetnexuiz.com/tourney/?sid=6 and remember:

The goal last time was 16.
    23 signed up.
    9 showed.
    8 played.

The link to the IRC instructions is incorrect on the rules page

    btw, hello everybody :P

I don't believe that I'm going to be playing in this tourney. I haven't played Nexuiz in months and I have various website projects keeping me really busy. Who knows. If you get close to 16 players, I might join in as filler.

  • Hi. I want to do this, but will be working. Otherwise sounds like an all round good time. :-) I'll have to catch one some other time.

  • Just so y'all know, I'll try to get someone to cover my shift at work the Friday night the tourney starts, but in all likelihood I'll be stuck working anyway. And I'm hoping it can be arranged that none of my matches are scheduled before, say, 6 or 7 Eastern Time, cuz I'm on the West Coast and my schedule's even further forward cuz of swing shift - I crawl out of bed around 2-3 PM Pacific. o_0

  • I'd like to sign-up. I see lots of familiar names in the list. But I probably wouldn't be able to make it to the tourney. Busy, busy month.

Anyway, count me in on the next one most likely. I look forward to watching the demos.
