Hello guys and girls!

I should have a new pc next week, hopefully by next Wednesday or Thursday I think.

The tournament will be ready to begin shortly after, can the teams just reply to this thread so I know they are still able to compete.

I'm going to get the map-pool and schedule ready to put up within the next 2 weeks (will be final schedule and maplist).

Probably won't start the tournament till after Christmas because of people who will be away etc, but will give me time to get everything in place for smooth sailing for the tournament to finally begin.

So once again, just reply if your team can still play otherwise I will remove you from the tournament list.

I'm still in, I hope morfar or ai is as well. For me to be able to participate it has to start after new year's eve, as I'm spending my holiday in the US (and the place where I'll stay has dial-up, yay for fast internets, don't think you can even get that over here in Finland anymore )

One great thing about this huge delay is that I bought a new laptop and can play Nexuiz again. So if anyone who does not mind much getting teamkilled by me about 3 times a game on average would enjoy playing with me... here I am (hi!).

Ok guys, I will re-open registrations TONIGHT when I get back home from work so wil be quite late and they will be open until the 23rd of December, after that they will be finally closed. Rules will be up at the same time when the registrations close. Map-pool will be up before then as well (will have new pc next week ).

Groups will be done a few days after registration ends, and then the schedule for group game's will go up after that.

Tournament will begin early January.

Hurray, when I'll have my last final...

C.Brutail, if your not already signed up with a team (I can't remember without checking!) then sign up still. It's only going to be, one game per schedule week, nothing more. So if you can fit it in then go for it

Also if we get enough sign-up's then I will make two groups based on skill level and make it two divisions that-way, I will manually have to set up 'play-off' tree's as the one on the site would be for this tournament and would use the play-off spots from each group, if this makes sense

I'll do this if we get 10 teams or more in the tournament (currently we have 7 or 8 I believe). Cortez + Diomedes, and Pinkrobot + paperclips (please ask him ) would give us 9 or 10, and I believe there are other's who would play.

BTW YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER AGAIN IF YOU ALREADY DID BEFORE, IT'S ONLY FOR NEW TEAMS AND PLAYERS! (Will be open after 21:00 CET tonight)

Ok groups have been made.

I just need to put up the map-list and sort out the rule's and get them up this evening also.

There are 2 groups which basically is two divisions.

Division 1:

cMc - Cemantic
nsb - dyslexic loser mob
doom - doomsquirrels
Affro - Team affro

Division 2:

Epopee
Laidback
Prae
BourneAgainShell
tehcookies
zshell
Conquerors


ALL GROUP STAGE MATCHES WILL BE bo3! (Best of 3 maps) and will be on a fixed map-list schedule.

play-off games will be bo5 (best of 5 maps).


Division 1 will play each other twice.

So division one teams will play 6 matches for the group stage.

The bottom two after the group stage will play each other for a place in the loser's final bracket.

The top two of the group will play for the winner of the winner's group bracket. The winner will go into the grand-final.
The loser of this game will play the other team in the loser's final bracket.
The winner of this game will then go into the grand-final against the winner of the winner's bracket.

The loser's and winner's bracket game's will be bo5 (best of 5 maps).
The grand final will be 2x bo3, with the loser bracket's final winner having to win 2x bo3 matches to become the champion.
The winner of the winner's bracket will only need to win 1x bo3.

Top 4 of this division will go into the semi-finals.

#1 will play #4 and #2 will play #3.

Loser's of the semi-finals will play each other for the 3rd/4th place.

Winner's of semi final's will play each other for the winner's trophy

All matches after the group phase will be bo5 (best of 5 maps!)

Timing scripts are not allowed in this tournament (Pre-warning to you morfar to disable it or remove it )
They are considered cheating, and anyone caught using one will be removed from the tournament.

I suppose timing scripts that do not deal with item timings (of any sorts) are OK then? E.g. for the HELP ME beacon. Otherwise I'll just bind sending the help beacon to my movement keys which I press all the time (and its not illegal to create binds anyway), so it wouldn't make a difference. But using a script for that seems better.

Okay. I have a problem.

Every time I connect to one of the servers and try and change the map to deck16 nexuiz crashes on me....and since its one of the maps on the second round it would be good to get this fixed :S

I never heard of this problem... When you download the map to your nexuiz data directory (delete it from the dlcache folder if it's in there) and start a game locally on that map, does Nexuiz crash too?

Yes, it also might be a conflict with some other maps.. Try to create a fresh ~/.nexuiz dir (assuming OS X or linux here) by moving the old one out of the way (copy your config.cfg over though).. And see if it still crashes when loading deck..

I'm on windows and I tried to delete it from my dlcache and then downloaded it from the site. And yes it still crashes me on my local server

Erf, No idea what the problem is.. keep posting as much info as possible though, what crash/error message if any?

Did you try my recommendation, too? Removing this map will not help if _another_ map or pk3 is the problem.. Please try to create a fresh nexuiz user dir (there's also the -userdir commandline switch) and see if the map still crashes nexuiz...

Just tried that and the map still crashes nexuiz.
