  • What is this? I compile a map, and no matter what it is this comes up. It also does the same when I try to play a map that has already been compiled such as Effluent_v1r1
I'm using NetRadiant and running nexuiz SVN. Something config file related apparently.

Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

  • Yes, just update your config file from svn too, and compile again.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • in SVN the default config file and the QC code both have a checksum.. to make sure badly packed third party maps (well any pk3 for that fact) can not mess with just one them.. So either you have a bad checkout, a bad compile or some bad third party map..
If you use svn then you should know how to run an update and just compile everything again (Make sure your method uses the 'Nexuiz/data makefile). If that does not help you probably have a 'wrong' progs.dat or defaultNexuiz.cfg file somewere in the 'Nexuiz-Load-Path'

  • I used this illustration to show how TIGER shapefile data is an approximal representation of the mapped environment, and has a degree of error associated with it. This was for an article outlining
