  • Guys, I've two questions for you:
    1. Is it possible to select a brush in Netradiant, a wall for istance, and rename it? If I want to name it Wall01, Can I do it?
    2.There's a planned feature to add layers to Netradiant? Because some years ago I tested Quark Editor and, if I don't remember wrong, it had these both 2 features(renaming and layers).

  • about give a name, i do in this way:

    1-select what i want rename
    2-make a func_group
    3-add targetname key and as value the name i want
    4-in entity list there is the group with that name

    usefull for me to select objects composed by many brushes/patches, and with appropriate name easy to find what i want in the map

  • Thanks a lot, giuseppe! Now I can rename objects and group of objects!Wow!
    But, I've noticed that this method of targetname key is also available for single objects, so it was what I need.Thx! And instead, about layers, so, is a feature not included in Netradiant?

    EDIT:I've another question: is it possible to make a map in a subfolder, like, for istance a map1 in a subfolder map1 in maps? I use nexuiz on linux so my maps path is .nexuiz/data/maps, if I create a mymap1_02.map map in data/maps/mymap/ , when I compile it is good, but, when I fire up in Nexuiz the console returns this:

    Code: Select all

    Invalid character in map name, ignored
    Invalid character in map name, ignored

    It was a pleasure :D

    about layers netradinat dont support (i think)

    about the error you report i see there is a problem in the name of map
    Invalid character in map name, ignored

    and a problem with mapinfo
    ======server ERROR in MapInfo_LoadMapSettings:
    Mapinfo system is not functional at all. BAILED OUT.

    maybe this is related with first error (problem with map name and finding map);
    maybe the mapinfo is created in a not default folder and when you run the map nexuiz is unable to find it

  • I found your reply only now, giuseppe, sorry! :D
    so, you're right I've created a map in a subfolder and maybe is not allowed in Netradiant (and that's a pity, because managing maps would be more tidy).
    thanks!

    PS: I looked at your site and at your guides. They're very useful, thanks for those! If you have time, I want to create a very detailed map guide for Netradiant , not all by miself, of course. If you've some material that you want to share, let me know with a pm!
