Seems to be a common problem, but I cant get any video on my Macintosh on startup or anytime else. V2.22 works fine on my pc, which has the same amount of video ram (faster cpu but this shouldnt matter). Sound and music work fine, and when clicking around (randomly) to the "join" menu, various bits of text appeared (the server list i presume).

Adjusting the size of the window did not work— shift esc did not even toggle windowed mode.

I read and tried the workaround suggested, and to no avail. Any help would be appriciated.

Looks like we can't do anything about it until we get a developer who has an Intel Mac. I have a PPC Mac (and it works there, but it's just a Radeon 9200 in there) but can't afford a new Mac...

Did you try Nexuiz-SDL?

Can you try compiling the engine yourself and run that? For that, extract the included enginesource zip file, open Terminal.app and change into the source directory. In there, type "make cl-nexuiz". Copy the resulting nexuiz-agl binary into the Nexuiz.app (open it using rightclick and "show package contents") over the existing nexuiz-osx-ppc-agl-bin. Does that work?

Btw. I met someone yesterday on #nexuiz.de who told me 2.22 would run fine on his Intel based Mac Pro. His name was Chris-ts (or st_sir_hc). He only had problems with the patch. Downloading and installing teh ful version succeeded for him.

The only new issue he said were the belated frag announcements...

I'm also having problems with 2.2.2. Startup - and it doeesn't matter wither I use the SDL version or not - gives me a black screen. There is a brief flash of white rubbish in the middle of the screen at first - then black. The music plays, though.

However, even though the menus are black, the menu buttons are still working, so it is possible to join a network game if one is lucky enough to hit the "Join" button. The server browser is also black, but the selected server is not. So if you manage to find a server, you can join a game. The game itself seems to work normally - although I discovered that my configs were overwritten by 2.2.2 so I couldn't do much more than watch the bots frag each other. Editing the configs by hand is no big deal (the settings menu is black - assuming that was the menu I eneded up with), but fumbling through black menu screens for a server is too much of a hassle.

I would have downgraded to 2.2.1 until a fix for 2.2.2 is available, but I stupidly overwrote it with 2.2.2 (I won't make that mistake again). Is 2.2.1 available online anywhere? 2.2.1 worked flawlessly for me - and it is a lot of fun so I'd rather not be without for too long..

I tried that myself. It did not work for me. Patch or full download - the menus are black.
