Am I missing something or is there a reason anyone may know of to explain why I can't enter my name to join a game?

When I try to enter anything the box seems to 'stick" to the mouse until I hit ESC. Just can't type anything in there.

Just installed the game for the first time, installed latest video drivers too. Can run the game and play bots so it looks like this is the only problem so far.

Any ideas?

I dunno about the menu stuff, but if all fails, just pull down the console (shift+esc), and type in

name Zoool


Hit enter, and this will set you nick anway, and you can join.

yeah the UI for nexuiz is kina odd to navigate, you need to put your mouse over an empty part of the screen and hit escape twice to get back in a game...

Don't forget to hit "Apply" at the bottom. I often do the mistake of typing in a name, hitting esc and go back into the game, without hitting apply first. It might seem as the name sticks there when first entering it and taking the mouse away from that box, but don't let it fool you

yeah that's the kind of thing I'm talking about

are you trying to get a special font into your name? and are you attempting to drag it from "A" to nexuiz? if you are you need to enter it through the console
basically if you cant change your name you could use the console (shift esc) bye entering in the console name "Zool" or you could put your mouse on the one below and press the "up" key (might not help worth a shot)
