  • I encountered a glitch in Nexuiz, where when I approach slime/lava brushes, with Shaders enabled, the view goes out of whack. It also is viewed in the menu if I am in one of those places. Basically, it is as if certain layers of the screen are being shifted about, and they oscillate back and forth. The HUD also experiences this, as you can see in the pic.

Its not too big a deal, because only certian maps have these, and I dont usually play with OGL shaders enabled anyway. Slime pit is the map where it is most prominent.

    I have an ATI (:? ) Radeon X1600.

The effect happens both in FP and chase, it is just easier to see in chase mode.

And dont try to convince me that it is a feature. :D

And you are using MacOS? That's a known bug on osx, the graphics drivers totally mess up OpenGL shaders and since it's a driver bug, we can't fix it (esp since no one of the developers has a mac with GLSL support). That's why the start script on osx disables OpenGL shaders.

  • BTW... which version of OS X do you have? Supposedly there were some OpenGL changes and fixes in 10.4.9... do you have these and it is still broken that way?

If 10.4.9 however does fix these issues, we could ship Nexuiz without the workaround of disabling GLSL in the future.

Out of interest... can you try gl_lockarrays 1? That showed a really weird bug back then...
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
