where is the 2.3 patch?

as far as i understand it there is no patch because the patch will be to big

there are like 150MB of new and replaced data in 2.3 compared to 2.2.3, so it was decided by someone that a patch makes no sense)

Yeah, the patch was already more then half the 2.3 and near the 2.2.3 download size so it made little sense in having a patch and the full download.
And as we specificly told people to NOT overwrite their old dir, but use a new one i hope we can change the filesnames in the NEXT patch a bit, so mixing patches and fulldownloads cause less problems in the future.
