I was wondering the main graphics change from the release prioir to 2.2.3 (2.2.2 I think) and also 2.3. The reason I ask is we sometimes set up a little game over the LAN and one of the computers (these are all basic machines) hasnt been able to even start nexuiz from 2.2.3 and still cant with 2.3. It is only the oldest of our machines the others work fine, when we turn them to the lowest video settings.

I was hoping there was something I could turn off to allow us to run the latest and greatest and also have all three the same version. Currently we use 2 with 2.3 and 1 with 2.2.1 or something.

Please keep in mind we would have to add some code to an autoexec.cfg or similar file as we cant even get it to open at all to turn stuff off via the menu's.

I can provide more technical info of the computer if it is required.

Hi! The main changes engine/graphics wise is that everything nexuiz have done before is now done faster At least very much of it, in particular lightning. Basically anything that you can write into the cmd line can be added to the autoexec.cfg or similar files.How far into the game do you get?

first try to add
exec low.cfg
vid_restart
to the autoexec so that all RT things are turned, then take it from there

an if it still doesnt start, please send more info about the computer.

another thing: you are sure the computer is running the latest drivers from the GPU manufacturer?

Nexuiz gets bitten by some driver bug since 2.2.3, apparently... to test this, create a link to your nexuiz.exe and add a space and -notexturenonpoweroftwo to the command line. If that helps, complain to your graphics driver manufacturer and let them fix it... it's as simple as that: if the non-power-of-two extension doesn't work in a driver, the driver should not put it in the list of supported extensions. So if that helps, a bugfix would already consist of the driver getting that extension name removed.
