When i play online
sometimes players have this problem

they can only see powerups and weapons
but the map is black (no structure, no texture, no light... nothing)
i ask for nexuiz version and answer is 2.3

i have same problem playing demos but few times ( i have 2.3 version)

maybe this problem exist if the map is stored in DLCACHE?

(sorry if this argument is not new but i have done a search
in support/bugs for black screen but i dont found same think)

This is because you dont have the map file. This will happen on servers that use customs maps without providing them for download.

Or if you play demos recorded on custom maps and you only have the map in dlcache. (pk3 in dlcache won't be loaded, unless a server sends you a download link)

Perhaps you've already thought of this, but It would make sense to me if Nexuiz give some sort of feedback like "missing map" when this happens. It probably gives an error in the console, but I mean in the HUD where it's more visible.

i have done some test
i have black map when i play demo
if the map is stored only in dlcache folder
and if i try a second time to play the same demo all its ok
