Only works with first resolution in xorg.conf on FC5 (Xorg7)

If you've had any problems with Nexuiz, or would like to report bugs, post here.

  • If I try to set the resolution of Nexuiz to something lower than what's in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (1280x1024), it will not use the whole screen, just puts for example a 1024x768 area when X is still in 1280x1024. With the full screen option on, it's centered and uses the color controls. Without the full screen option, Nexuiz is in the top-left of the screen and the color controls don't apply.

  • I guess you are using a LCD monitor?
You have to tell your drivers to scale resolutions lower than 1280x1024. For nvidia card, use the nvidia-settings tool, Display Device -> DFP-0 and choose "Scaled" or "Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaled" there.

And I'd never use nVidia for anything graphics-intensive, there's no drivers. I use a Radeon 9100.

Ehm but there ARE nvidia drivers and they are up to date. I don't see why you say this...but anyway
    Code: Select all
    Section "Screen"
       Identifier   "Default Screen"
       Device      "Nvidia GeForce 6600"
       Monitor      "Random CrapRT"
       DefaultDepth   24
       SubSection "Display"
          Depth      24
          Modes           "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"
       EndSubSection
    EndSection

This is my screen config in xorg.conf and when running normal X i use 1600z1200 but when nexuiz runs it switches to 1024x768 but you can only use lower resolutions if they are in your screen section. Hope this helps you out.

I just tried Frozen Bubble, and it does the same thing. I think it's a problem with SDL, not Nexuiz.
