  • Hello , my name is stephane. I have a problem with nexuiz, i can't connect to any server. After selecting a server, the only message from the console (after telling me that i'm accepted to teh challenge) are "server to client keep alive" "client to client keep alive" and this indefinitely. For information, my router and firewall are opened. I already try to stop my firewall but nothing change. My firewall is kerio. So am i to far from the server ( i'm in france) or is there another problem? i try to connect on dcc's delight but it doesn't work. On the irc channel, someone told me to connect on a server, i did it and he told me that i appear as "unconnected" on the server list. Thank you in advance for helping me.

  • Apparently, Nexuiz and your router are not compatible. Try working around it like this:

    - On the router, set up a port forwarding from port 26666 to your computer's IP, port 26666
    - On your computer, go into the directory "data" in the Nexuiz folder. In there, make a new file called "autoexec.cfg" (enable viewing of file extensions in explorer to do that). In that file, you write: "cl_port 26666".

You can do the latter e.g. the following way:
    - Open command prompt from start menu
    - type "echo cl_port 26666 > "
    - drag the Nexuiz data folder into the command prompt window
    - remove the space at the end of the line and the quotation mark; then add: \autoexec.cfg and a quotation mark
    - The line should then look like: C:\>echo cl_port 26666 > "c:\documents and settings\testuser\desktop\nexuiz\data\autoexec.cfg"
    - Press Return
    The file is there then.

When you have done that, try again.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
