  • Have a look in this thread: http://alientrap.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=33434

In the first post is a link for a Hotfix that should fix your problem.
The Hotfix is still under development so please be so kind and give some feedback in the above mentioned thread whether it could solve your problem or not.

  • We need more information to help you. Have you tried nexuiz.exe and nexuiz-sdl.exe ?
if both crash, you should use Dr. Watson's or OllyDbg and post here the output.

  • Same thing here: 2.4 crashes after initialising the graphics.

nexuiz-sdl.exe however does work. I've got an ATI too.

  • Sounds like it might be related to ATi's drivers. Try this:

In Nexuiz/data, create a text file called 'autoexec.cfg'. In it put a line 'exec low.cfg'. This should mean that low details are used by default as a failsafe mode.

  • Indeed its most probable a crash in the graphic driver so except cutting back the effects ala exec low.cfg i have no other ideas.
But as you said you have an ati card you can try this instead of low.cfg inside the autoexec.cfg:
    gl_vbo 0
    r_glsl 0

and see if that helps prevent the crash..
both will however not look as nice as per default :)

@ Obi: that crash should be fixed in the hotfix..

  • Installed the 'fix': still a crash
Tried autoexec.cfg tips (both): still a crash

Seems to be related with atiPPHSN function call.

  • Installing the Omega drivers did the job for me too.

Problem solved. Thank you for the tip.

  • I uploaded my nexuiz 2.4 graphic settings and some more things i copied at my webspace. It looks ugly, but it is very good if you have any troubles with Frames Per Second. You can also lower the resolution, which is set to 1024x768.
