  • Can anyone offer any advice on how to get the game working on Vista.
I downloaded the latest software yesterday but still everytime I am shot or shoot at someone once connected to a server the application crashes??

  • I dunno if that is a vista problem, specifically. I use vista and I have heard of a few others running Nexuiz in Vista. I don't do anything special with it. I just run it and it works.

You say it crashes when you get shot or when you shoot someone. Maybe it's a graphics or sound issue. Do you play other games on that computer?

  • Actually the Intel 945 isn't a graphics card. It's a part of the mainboard chipset and doesn't have its own memory. At least it supports some 3D features.

However, running Nexuiz will take at least some work. Be sure to run Nexuiz on the lowest graphics settings by disableing all the effects you can do in the menue. Check if Nexuiz still crashes. If not, you can try to enable one or the other effect again and have a look if it still works. But don't expect too much.

There are some more possibilities to lower the graphics settings by editing the file config.cfg in the \data folder. For that you'll probably need more help.

    Good luck!

  • Well vista computer usually do NOT ship with graphic card vendor drivers and thus lack good openGL support which Nexuiz and lots of quake-based games (quake1/2/3/4 ofc, doom3, prey, eliteforce...) use so maybe its worth searching for drivers from intel itself.
But then again as Urmel said the graphic chip is not really that powerful so you should use the lowest graphic settings even after installing drivers.
