  • I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit. My video card is a GeForce 8800GT. nVidia Driver Version 169.09.

The game will run fine for several minutes at a time, then just go away. I've disabled compiz and tried both the glx and sdl startup scripts. Same result. In the console (after a crash) I see this:

    Received signal 11, exiting
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Well that does not help much.. propably its a crash in side the graphic drivers but to make sure you would need to use a debug build and debug it or see the info in Nexuiz/Docs/FAQ.html on crashreports.
Hmm i can find 2.4 debug builds at the moment.. maybe you can build them yourself with the sources comming with 2.4

  • Esteel,
    Thank you for your reply.

I believe the problem to be thermal related. Since I was the only person reporting the problem and it occurred only during heavy game play, I opened side of my computer case, placed the machine on a running air-conditioning vent. No crashes since...I guess the 4 fans (side vent, power supply, video card and cpu) aren't enough.

    Thanks again,
    AnonyMouse

  • Hi AnonyMouse,
    I've got the same symptom.
Does the experience confirm your diagnosis ?
Have you found better solution than open your pc ?
    Thanks.
