Hi,

i am unable to change my resolution in nexuiz. when i start the game, it goes straight to 640x480x16@60hz and shows my desktop for about 10-15 seconds before the intro/main menu appears.

if i try to set the resolution to 1024x768 a vid_restart occurs but after another 10 secs of staring at my desktop i´m back with the original resolution.

i even tried setting the res by the console vars "vid_with" and "vid_height"... after the "vid_restart" the con tells me something like "unable to change to requested video mode". there´s no reason given for this...

specs:

WINXP Prof. SP2
NVIDIA Geforce 6800 GT (latest drivers)
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
1GIG DDR-Ram

what can i do?

Weee, sounds weird.

I guess You are in trouble with driver installation.

Try to completely remove the Nvidia driver and install it once more.

Another thing: Are You running nex in fullscreen or windowed mode, and do the settings differ (32bit vs 16 bit colors)? They should be the same value.

Try to set Your values by editing the config.cfg, resolution settings exactly like Your desktop solution.

Can you take a look at the console (open it with shift-escape or if ingame with the key left of 1. Close it again with escape. You can scroll up and down with pageup/down) and see if there is an error message?
