  • version 2.4 worked perfectly (just on xp, but with linux is a graphic card/new xorg issue i guess) but in 2.4.2 the models (bodies, weapons, clips, health) are not visible with the only exception of uzi clips o.O (again, with xp)

all the effects are visible (like smoke, explosions, item respawn effect, etc)

    help plz T_T

edited, was uzi clips, not shotgun...

  • Which graphics card and driver?

    Try:

    r_glsl 0
    gl_vbo 0
    gl_lockarrays 0
    vid_restart
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

nothing changed after that (and i've tried all combinations of video options)

its an oldie via unichrome but all was fine with nexuiz 2.4

some shots (you cant see the weapons, most of the clips or bots)

a shotgun shot and machinegun clips (the only visibles)
    Image

    hagar bullets are visible
    Image

    but mortar not
    Image

and just the fire of the rocket launcher but not the rocket
    Image

could be something related to the model rendering or loading?

  • I had a similar problem in linux (64bit), had to install the 32bin compatibilty libraries including the ones for the graphic drivers..
Search for ia32 and find all those libs..
Those what is strange is that it should start the 'right' 64 bit binary if it finds your system to be a 64bit system.. and not need those 32bit libs.

What is the output of? :
    uname -a

  • I experienced a similar thing today while playing (winXP, Nexuiz 2.4.2). On one map my weapon disappeared and I could no longer shoot but I could still use the hook. I was invisible on my chase cam and other players couldn't see me either (which made capping the flag easy :P)

This is more like a new "feature".

It happened again in another game, but only my weapon disappeared (still visible to other players and in the chase cam, but unable to shoot).

It seems to have happened when getting shot.

  • Another thing to try: run Nexuiz with the command line option -safe:

    ./nexuiz-linux-glx.sh -safe

this turns off almost ALL render features. Does the problem persist then?
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

mmm... when some graphics dissapear could be because they cant be loaded or got suddenly missing

the linux system now is ubuntu hardy (8.04) with linux kernel 2.6.24-17 and xorg 7.3 (here is the problem i think...)

but the thing with linux is different... all textures are transparent xD
ill look for those libs before doing a mess with the graphic card drivers
(maybe this weekend if got the time)

  • I have the same problem. According to the console, the problem seems to be a failure to load gfx/complete and gfx/inter.

2.4 shows the same message about complete and inter

EDIT: welll... when you lost some images could be a memory problem...

replacing nexuis 2.4.2 executable with the previous one (2.4) "solves" the problem (dunno if there could be some error elsewhere)

Now thats very very strange! The rendering did not change very much and the option -safe should have disabled most rendering features so the two engines should be rather similar again then.
Maybe LordHavoc does have an idea.

  • For the record, I was apparently invisible for other players as well.

could be the compiler, the platform where was compiled, libraries used...

something that make it fail with specific hardware or system configuration

    ***************************

the problem with linux was solved with "gl_combine 0" (1 is the default and for cards that support opengl 1.3, not my case :s )

  • esteel wrote:Hmm can you tell use what graphic driver version you use?
I hope this in a shell
    Code: Select all
    glxinfo | grep -i string\\\|direct
will display that info along with some more that might be nice to see after such a 'bug' report..

    here is :)
do_wait: drmWaitVBlank returned -1, IRQs don't seem to be working correctly.
Try running with LIBGL_THROTTLE_REFRESH and LIBL_SYNC_REFRESH unset.
    direct rendering: Yes
    server glx vendor string: SGI
    server glx version string: 1.2
    client glx vendor string: SGI
    client glx version string: 1.4
    OpenGL vendor string: VIA Technology
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI UniChrome (KM400) 20060710 x86/MMX+/3DNow!+/SSE
OpenGL version string: 1.2 Mesa 7.0.3-rc2

that error was new for me xD
but when i was "playing" with other drivers and got direct rendering: no, trying with nexuiz got the same graphics issue
