I run the app called nexuiz
my system is more than powerful enough in every aspect

When i run nexuiz dedicated I get black log window saying could not load models textures etc

I get the same problem as the topic could not load models in 2.4.2 but i have a different system. I cant see any units or held guns, only mag clips, blood, projectiles in air and projectiles on walls/ explosions.

When i run the sdl its the same but all moving rounds if i fire a rocket launcher for example i dont see it en route, only when it hits something.

On both i can play for upto a minute before the program crashes and vista jumps me out. then i use task manager to kill the app and get a notification saying a display driver nvdklmmnv (something like that i cant copy it) has stopped working but recovered.

On sdl i also get a runtime error

i have tried reinstalling, running on admin, running in compatibilty mode, reducing all graphics effects, running only that program and have downloaded three it to two different locations just to make sure.

Any idea's?

oh yeah also all sound works fine and its the same whether i'm online or in single player

Oops, sorry. I forgot to add I have Vista SP1 and have tried updating everything using different methods as they do not all give me more updates, Everything is definitely updated so could this mean Nexuiz simply wont work until (If) nvidia and MS fix some issues?

Your problems are most likely caused by your video driver.

"Nlddmkn stopped responding and has successfully recovered" is the message you received.

I guess you already checked for a new one? Or still running 169.25? Vista drivers had bad problems e.g. with openGL for a long time. Even though Nvidia had less than ATi. Have you already updated to SP1?

According to some hardware forums' threads, Vista users with GF79xx aren't very lucky with Vista and Nvidia doesn't seem to care too much about working on older Geforces' drivers.

First of all nexuiz-dedicated.exe is JUST the server part.. that you only get a window with text is expected and the way the dedicated server works The error messages there are harmless, someone should just silence them..

For the other problem i guess you should install drivers from nvidia.com.. often computer come without good drivers installed and thus you have the bad vista drivers that give problems as you see and urmel wrote
