  • well, I have just downloaded some screen recording software, but i need to reboot in order to use it. anyways, it says "The system cannot find the file specified", When I pressed the "extract" button, it had a pre selected location to "extract to", it was a temporary file. I tried it and i got this message, i selected my own file to "extract to", and i got the same message. And I'm srry about sounding like a noob, but how do i use the windows archive extracter? I have windows vista home premium 32bit, btw. Thanks alot dude, and that was a fast response.

  • I know the stereotype... if they really fit it, tell them to upgrade your hardware before Thursday and to get Nexuiz running for you. :P

  • Hardware? You mean my rig? I have a very good setup(for a laptop).
I have a 17" HP, 2ghz intel core 2 duo, 2 gbs RAM, Something like a 500 gig harddrive, and my pride and joy....a NVIDIA GeForce 8600m GS, 256 dedicated(custom for my laptop).
And right now they kinda fit the stereotype, but definately by thursday, I'll do what Psychcf told me to do. I'll open up that "windows file extractor", and my comp is in hibernate mode, so the computer is off, but windows is still saved inside. Thx, for all the help so far.

  • I'm back on my good laptop for now, and I recorded where and how I downloaded nexuiz. Next, when the download is complete, which is in about 35 mins, I'll record or take a pic of the screen when I get to the point at which I need help on what to do next. thx! :D

  • I posted a vid on what I did to download it on youtube, and I just out up a vid on what to do next, When i tried to start the game it gave me this message.(A unusable answer was put up on nexuiz.com, but I didn't understand it) "You have reached this menu due to missing or unlocatable contents/data." "You may consider adding -basedir/path/to/game to your launch commandline" I tried putting it into the command line, I pressed entr, but nothing happened, I then pressed escape(ESC), and I was back at the menu. What do i do to fix this problem?
I have my videos on youtube, First one: "Nexuiz download process"
    SECOND: "nexuiz help"
thx alot, and I'm really srry for bothering you all the time.
Watch the video plz, It'll explain alot.

p.s. Ignore the music in the backround, at the time, I didn't know that audio recording was on.

  • ok, it looks like you did everything ok, except I can't tell what's going on at the end of the "Neuxiz help" video.

I also run Vista. Here are my steps...

-Save nexuiz242.zip to my desktop (select save instead of open when downloading).
-Right click on nexuiz242.zip and "extract here"
-That creates a Nexuiz directory on my desktop.
-I open my Nexuiz directory, right click on nexuiz.exe and create shortcut.
-I drag the shortcut to my desktop.
-I double click that shortcut and enjoy playing Neuxiz :-)
