  • I have seen this searcing about zip corrupted files
    http://www.alientrap.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=975&highlight=zip+corrupted

After about 40 h of download time (with my old modem)
yesterday i have tried to extract nexuiz 2.4.2...
:( the zip archive is corrupted and i cant run new nexuiz version.

    Now one of this:
re-download nexuiz 2.4.2 (im not oriented at this)
download the patch 2.3-2.4.2 (yes i have still 2.3)

    I have a question:
its possible split the download in parts?
In this case is possible download separately the parts and if at the end of dowloads
there is a part corrupted needs to re-download only that part :).
This should be nice for users with old and slow connection but also help others users i think.

I have an example based on nexuiz 2.3 zip file:
    data20070531.pk3
    others files

    Contents with compressed dimension (approx)

    othersfiles 16 MB

    data20070531:
    demos 3.5 MB
    env 4 MB
    gfx 3 MB
    maps 57 MB
    models 9 MB
    particles 1 MB
    sound 57 MB
    textures 136 MB

    menu 45 KB
    progs 4 KB
    scripts 30 KB
    video 30 KB

    others 200 KB

    ------------------
    TOTAL 286 MB

I think is good idea split for download like this:

    1st part download 57 MB
    maps

    2nd part download 57 MB
    sound

    (split textures in 2 part)
    3rd part download 68 MB
    textures (1)

    4th part download 68 MB
    textures (2)

    5th part download 36 MB
    all the others files remaining

Sure is better splitting maps in 2 parts, sound in 2 parts and textures in 4 parts (9 parts download about 30MB each).

    What u think about?

  • I put up a torrent for the nexuiz-242.zip here: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1487825.

Using a good torrent application you can resume the download with the corrupted zip you have and it should get fixed. I suggest µtorrent for windows.

  • I think you can try an utility called Advanced Zip Repair to repair your Zip file. It works rather well for my corrupt Zip files. But it is not free, so can be tried in the end.

    Hope this still is useful.

First he already got the zip now, thanks to the magic of torrents.
Secondly. I would never trust a program to try to repair my zips... I mean how can it guess what is supposed to be in the zip? It can't. So it probably will remove some files inside the zip. And the result would be a corrupt zip.
