  • I have a CTF server and am using Rcon to control stuff remotely. When I use rcon to enumerate maps it shows maps that are not CTF and I am wondering why. Is there a way to suppress this? Right now my server.cfg doesn't have all the map files listed but has it set as "" to self enumerate the existing maps in /data. Any help is appreciated...

  • Yes, this is intended. g_maplist contains ALL maps, but maps with the wrong mode get skipped.

This is so you can change the game mode, and don't play on the "intersection" of CTF and DM maps then.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Hey Di\/

So, is there a way for the server with RCON to only show the maps for the specified game type? Should I explicitly add them to a map list? Will that "fix" it?

Its just annoying when you are trying to switch maps and it shows you maps that don't relate to what you are trying to do...

  • Hm... someone could code "lsmaps" to work on the server too, but it currently does not. Maybe later.

    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
